About Go Fish Online

Go Fish Online is a free, real-time browser card game for two to four players. The same team maintains the playable game and the rules library, so every standard-rule explanation can be checked against working game behavior.

Who creates the game and guides?

The Go Fish Online team designs, develops, tests, and documents this game. Its source code and engineering history are available in the public GitHub repository, making the implementation behind important rules inspectable.

How are rules checked?

We first document the exact standard rules enforced by the server: legal ranks, card transfers, draws, extra turns, completed books, empty-hand refills, game completion, and ties. We then compare the explanation with established card-game references, including Bicycle Cards and Pagat.

Standard rules versus variations

Go Fish has household and regional variations. Our core rules pages describe the books-of-four game implemented online. Pages about pairs, exact-card requests, educational decks, shorter hands, or teams label those choices as variations and tell players what to agree on before dealing.

How are guides reviewed?

Every guide carries a visible review date. We revisit a page when game behavior changes, a source reveals an ambiguity, or player feedback identifies unclear wording. Material changes update the page review date and the sitemap modification signal.

Corrections and feedback

Specific, reproducible corrections are welcome. Open an issue in the project issue tracker with the page URL, disputed statement, expected wording, and a supporting source when available.

Privacy and fair play

The server owns the deck and validates every move. Each player receives a private view of their own hand; another player’s hand and the deck order are never sent to the browser. No account is required to create or join a game.
